Protects and improves surfaces

Lining is finishing of working surfaces of equipment and parts with materials with special protective characteristics against mechanical, physical, thermal and chemical effects.

Lining prevents sticking, freezing or sintering of goods and wear of working surfaces of bunkers, wagons, conveyors during bulk, delivery and storage of bulk materials and cargo. The use of lining can increase the loading capacity of the equipment, and reduce additional operating, repair and service costs. As a material for the lining are proved polymers of company Plastmass Group: INKULEN PE-1000/500 and INKUMER EL.


The lining prevents sticking, freezing or sintering and wear of the working surfaces, bins, railcars, conveyors for the handling, transportation and storage of bulk materials and cargo. The use of linings allows to increase the throughput of the equipment, and to reduce additional operating costs for maintenance and repair of equipment. Polymers of the company Plastmass Group: high molecular and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene INKULEN PE 500/1000 and polyurethane elastomer INKUMER-EL are proven remarkably effective.

At first is selected the optimal material for lining under the requirements of the Customer and according to preliminary calculations. Then are made the optimal maps of material’s cutting. The materials are available as plates of standard sizes and as well as plates in significant size, that reduces unnecessary loss of materials. Cutting is made on the exact machines; the cutting line is perfectly smooth, without burrs or rough edges. The choice of lining fasteners depends on the purpose of the equipment and the chosen material. The most appropriate and at the same time technologically effective method of the lining is fixing with bolts and studs. Plates made of materials are fastened to the bottom of the body by threaded studs, fixed on the surface by spot welding; the places of their installation are closed by plugs or welded. The joints of the plates are boiled with the hand extruder using welding rod. In order to prevent the getting of material under the lining surface, the upper edge of the lining sheets is closed with a steel plate.

Lining using high molecular and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene PE-500 / PE-1000 has a wide range of technical characteristics:

  • Resistant to aggressive chemical environment, except the effects of nitric acid;

  • High wear resistance;

  • Excellent deformation characteristics, stable to size and shape changing;

  • No water absorbation, so no size changing in the aquatic environment;

  • UV and microorganisms’s destruction resistance;

  • No taste and smell;

  • The sliding surface prevents the sticking of wet products;

  • Mechanically strong and tough;

  • Low weight;

  • No extremely high costs by processing;

  • Good dielectric properties;

  • Radiation resistance.


Lining using polyurethane elastomer  (Shore hardness 70-90, Skala A) has following  feachers:

  • Increased elasticity;

  • High wear resistance;

  • Resistant to numerous deformation;

  • Chemical resistance;

  • Dielectric properties;

  • Vibration resistance;

  • High pressure resistance without losing its operating characteristics;

  • No properties losing by temperature drops.

    For the mining and processing plant that produces coal (Yakutia), was carried out the lining of concrete gutters.

    Problem: rapid wear / abrasion of the gutter walls under the large impact and abrasive loads, congestion due to sticking of the coal mass to the walls.

    Solution: the lining of INKULEN PE material increased the passing speed and volume of solids mass through the gutter. UHMWPE protected the walls of the gutters from the intense abrasive wear because of sticking and impact loading of materials.
    INKULEN PE optimally combines low surface friction with mechanical hardness and amazing wear resistance.


    Wet and sticking cargos (such as sand, clay, coal, granular chemicals, etc.) transporting and unloading from/into trucks cause sticking, freezing of materials to the body of truck, as a result of that they are long and not fully unloading from the body, which reduces the effective load capacity of road transport, increases the unloading time and fuel consumption. All this leads to an increase the operating costs and reduce the operation efficiency of trucks.
    Lining of dump truck bodies with INKULEN PE materials allows to increase profitability of trucks operating up to 10% and to solve problems with cargo delivery without downtime and failures.


    At the mining and processing plant, car dumpers are used to lump copper ore and coal from four-axis railway wagons into receiving bunkers. The main operating problem is the rapid over-wear of the walls of the bunkers under the impact and abrasion by loading, so cause frequent repair and stopping the hopper. The application of INKULEN PE plates make unloading of goods more stable and protect the walls from impact tear wear, reduce constant and impact noise, so extend the service life of the hopper of car dumper significantly.
